WV litigation attorney Stephen M. Ferguson brings a passion and aptitude for solving legal questions to the Jenkins Fenstermaker, PLLC litigation team. Stephen’s outstanding written and oral advocacy skills and knowledge make him a top-quality West Virginia insurance defense lawyer. With these and other skills, he helps clients manage insurance coverage and defense matters successfully. He utilizes his questioning nature and research capabilities to represent his clients and their interests and to achieve their goals in litigation.
Working in civil litigation defense in Jenkins Fenstermaker’s Huntington office, Stephen represents clients across West Virginia, defending individuals, businesses, and government entities against personal injury and property damage claims in industries including construction and insurance, often handling cases involving major damages and fatalities. Through his work and education, Stephen has acquired the skills that make him a successful West Virginia insurance defense attorney, including the ability to identify potential legal issues and factual scenarios, argument drafting and delivery, and oral argument skills.
A graduate of the West Virginia University (WVU) College of Law, Stephen enjoys working alongside clients, tackling their legal matters while helping bring about a reasonable and fair conclusion to their cases. His inquisitive nature allows him to find real solutions that can solve various legal problems for his clients. Stephen’s experiences providing legal aid to indigent clients throughout the state as a student clinician at the WVU College of Law’s General Litigation Clinic and serving as a summer law clerk in West Virginia’s Nineteenth Judicial Circuit have given him the practical experience to handle with confidence any type of case his clients bring him.
Prior to attending law school, Stephen represented WVU at the National Model United Nations in Washington, D.C. and interned in the victim assistance program at the Monongalia County Prosecuting Attorney’s office as an undergraduate. With his background and diverse experience, Stephen is ready to help clients in his role as a WV insurance coverage attorney.
A West Virginia native, attorney Stephen M. Ferguson enjoys using the skills he has gained to help his clients, but he also appreciates that his work allows him to participate in facilitating a more just community. He is a member of Generation Huntington, where he was the featured member in July 2022.
