As a WV real property lawyer, Christa Dotson focuses her practice in real estate, oil and gas and litigation defense. She has extensive experience in WV real estate and title litigation, rental and leasing, insurance, insurance defense, and wills matters as well as in the energy industry in oil and gas negotiations, contracts, acquisitions, trades, and joint operating agreements.
Christa graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2007 and joined Jenkins Fenstermaker’s litigation team. After her work with the firm piqued her interest in the oil and gas sector, she moved into various roles with small and large exploration and production companies. In those positions, she managed business development, title, curative, leasing, acquisitions, and contract negotiations before her return to private legal practice as Of Counsel with Jenkins Fenstermaker in the firm’s Clarksburg, WV office.
Attorney Christa A. Dotson puts her years of management, negotiation, and business experience to work for her clients every day. She is skilled at analyzing, structuring, and negotiating deals and contracts to meet company objectives. Christa especially enjoys applying her broad business, legal, and management experience across a range of industries for the benefit of her clients.
Christa takes great pride in helping individuals and businesses navigate complex legal matters by simplifying the process and obtaining results. She strives to build relationships and trust with clients by providing competent representation that allows them to relax and focus their attention on their own businesses and lives.
When Christa is not working, she enjoys spending time with and cooking for friends and family, which includes her husband, daughter, and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. She also enjoys travel, reading, and—like a true Mountaineer—cheering on West Virginia University’s sports teams.
