House Bill 2087 was introduced on February 8, 2017. House Bill 2087 proposes to amend and reenact §22-3-22a of the Code of West Virginia relating to blasting activities. Presently, West Virginia Code §22-3-22a prohibits blasting activities within 300 feet of an occupied dwelling, a temporarily unoccupied dwelling which has been occupied within the past ninety days, a public building, any structure used for commercial purposes, a school, a church, and a public park or a water well. House Bill 2087 would prohibit blasting activities with 625 feet of these structures. The Bill has been referred to the Committee on Energy for consideration.
