Bo Sweeney has a practice based in general civil litigation, with a concentration in the defense of mesothelioma and asbestos claims, construction disputes and defending employers in deliberate intent suits brought under West Virginia Code §23-4-2. Bo serves as National Coordinating Counsel for a West Virginia based asbestos defendant, and represents numerous local and national companies in asbestos claims. A veteran of the West Virginia Asbestos Litigation since 1991, he has been trial counsel in every asbestos trial group in West Virginia since 2003, and represents manufacturers, premises owners and employers in the defense of asbestos claims throughout the state of West Virginia.
Bo also represents owners and contractors in construction litigation, and has experience in both jury trials and arbitration of construction claims and claims against sureties. He also defends employers in "Mandolidis" or deliberate intent claims brought pursuant to W. Va. Code §23-4-2. He has also handled matters involving MSHA, SMCRA, ERISA, Truth in Lending and class action litigation, and has tried over 20 cases to verdict.
